The most treasured things passed down from generation to generation are the Recipes.  Cooking  is an art I can enjoy. There is a kind of sorcery in all cooking; in the choosing of ingredients, the process of mixing, grating, melting, infusing, and flavoring, the recipes taken from ancient books, the traditional utensils- the pestle  with which my mother made her incense turned to a more homely purpose, her spices and aromatics giving up their subtleties to a baser, more sensual magic. And it is partly the transience of it delights me; so much loving preparation, so much art and experience, put into a pleasure that can last only a moment, and which only a few will ever fully appreciate. I read recipes the same way I read science fiction. I get to the end and say to myself “Well, that's just Magical”.

I started by prepping the ingredients.First things first,so I started the process by soaking the Channa dal(Chole) which is the hero of this recipe. After that it was three separate process where the potatoes(Aloo) and Channa(Chole) gravy, basmati rice and fried onions needs to be cooked.I started doing them one by one. I started cooking the Channa in a pressure cooker. The most intriguing thing in this whole process is this part. The recipe was to cook the Channa dal with some tea powder.I have no idea why I want to put tea powder to it.But I did,I cooked the Channa with tea powder and it gave the Channa dal a dark brown colour. Then I got the reason,it was to give a colour to it. Then I started cooking the ri
